Oh man am I stoked!  Greatest weekend ever!  So, last night I went to the last "Superfly" car show of the year.  It is basically a misfit group of various ages and tastes.  It is held in downtown Akron, OH at/in the college parking decks.  Just a mash up of whatever you can think of.  Sport tuners, super cars, motorcycles, lifted trucks, BMW's, low riders...basically whatever people have and enjoy driving and wrenching on.  Now, myself and 5 others are friends and we all have unique cars.  So, we have a group we call, "The Rubber City Rat Pack".  We are all friends and we help each other out with our project cars (and our families cars, friends cars, just anyone we genuinely like).   All 6 of us, "The Rubber City Rat Pack" went to this show last night.  5 out of 6 of us got awards!
Left to right, Chris with a Pontiac Le-mans "Hottest GM Classic".  James with a custom rat rod truck "Hottest classic truck", myself with the Buick Special "Best of Show"!!!!!!! Brian with a '86 Buick Regal with hydraulics "Best Low rider"  J-Bird with a Ford Maverick "Hottest Ford Classic".

Okay, so that all happened last night. So, This afternoon, I took my Special out and headed towards a Waffle House for brunch. Half way there, I notice my temp gauge is at 240. Stop in the right lane of a country road, shut the car off and leave the fans on and found that my alternator/water pump belt broke. Miraculously , the guy behind me (and his son) stops, gets out of a SUV and offers to help! They took me to the automotive store and there was ONE, JUST ONE in stock. Installed the belt on the side of the road, added coolant, and had BRUNCH afterwards! My faith in humanity is....partially....restored.

Oh I know.  I wish Vintage Days was once every 3 months or so instead of just once a year.  But I suppose the wait makes it THAT MUCH BETTER.  Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio is So So Good!

Do your best to keep that group together. I have 2 "best buds" that I have known since grade school - I call our relationship "priceless".
Congrats to ALL of you guys.  Very Happy
