Have a 73H2A. Bringing it to a welding shop Wednesday for a steering stabilizer bracket weld repair. Probably a tig weld job according to shop.
What electronic should be disconnected or removed for repair. Don't want to fix one thing and kill another.  Tk s Robert

When I had my kids bike welded at the KTM shop, all they did was disconnect the CDI, but that was a single cylinder.

I would disconnect and remove any electronics which is expensive or hard to replace. CDI and maybe the stator because of the pickup's. Contrary to many I like to leave the battery connected. This is because a battery is a "voltage stabilizing" device. If any voltage spikes enters the electrical system the battery will actually absorb some of the energy and lessen the impact. This is of course with an ordinary lead/acid battery, if using a lithium battery I would remove that too as they can be very sensitive to over voltage.

Make sure they put the earth clamp close to the place the welding is done. And the earthclamp makes good contact.

In the 70s we used to weld broken  motor mounts on the frame and never had a problem. Never disconnected anything...
